The Common Pantry proudly introduces a new program for 2012. In an effort to expand our services and help strike at the root causes and effects of poverty and hunger, we have established Common Community. Common Community provides social service referrals, general help, computer access, and a free lunch each Wednesday from 11am – 4pm. In addition to a meal and a place to gather, participants of Common Community will have an opportunity to work with dedicated staff who are able to assist them in accessing resources. For example, our staff could assist clients with completing the paperwork for SNAP (food stamps), find medical care, or job search and resume assistance. This will allow us to help our clients in ways beyond providing food. It will not only provide a sense of community but it will offer a resource to help our clients get to a place where they are no longer dependent on emergency food supply services.
Please help Common Community get off to a great start by making a tax deductible donation today.
