Produce Distribution: Help us provide thousands of pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to hundreds of our neighbors in need. Distribution takes place on the 3rd Monday of each month from 8:30am to 12pm.  Volunteers assist with unloading a delivery of produce, bagging items, and distributing to our clients. Groups of up to 30 people are welcome!

Food Drives: Host a food drive at your school, place of work/worship or connect with one of our grocery store partners to help boost our supplies! We provide containers, signage, and wishlists of food items. Contact us prior to your event for support in timing and logistics.

Greater Chicago Food Depository: GCFD offers group volunteer opportunities at their headquarters (4100 W. Ann Lurie Place). Volunteering at GCFD provides us food credits that we use to buy food supplies. Contact GCFD at 773-247-3663 to speak with a group volunteer coordinator and reference our Agency Code (A00003) when signing up.

Festivals & Events: Help us staff gates at local street festivals (usually in the summer). Staffing an entry gate is done in groups of 2-3 people and are 3-4 hour shifts throughout the weekends of the festivals. Volunteers must be 21 years or older and these events can take on up to 40 people

Special Projects at the Pantry: Throughout the year, projects pop up that take some extra support to accomplish. Sample projects include:  Pantry cleanup/organization, bag packing for home deliveries and food drive sorting/stocking.

Contact us at:  volunteer@commonpantry.org to find out more details and setup a project for your group!
